Reduce, Reuse, Raccoon - Update v0.2 (Bigger, Fancier, Trashier!)


Hello and welcome to the second Devlog for Reduce, Reuse, Raccoon! It’s been a while since the Jingle Game Jam and we have since completed two other game jams. The ‘game-like’ game jam and the ‘Gamedev.js’ game jam. Please check out our submissions ‘Slime Fest’ and ‘Set Scale!’ respectively! 

Now onto the good stuff - Reduce, Reuse, Raccoon updates.

  • Added Shop Tutorial

▼ Graphics

  • Full Graphics Overhaul (Literally every asset)
    • Interactive Title Screen
    • Animated Backgrounds
    • Fully updated catalogue of items. 
  • Resolution updated from 720p → 1080p
  • Items updated from 320p → 480p


▼ Shop

  • ‘Raccoin Register’ now has an open/close animation when the player picks up a coin. 
  • Moved coin location as to not block customer animations. 
  • Delay between customers has been halved. 
  • New Customer - Squirrel

▼ Bag Openings

  • Item rarity is now displayed by the color of the star
    • Common → Grey
    • Uncommon → Blue
    • Rare → Red
    • Unusual → Green
    • Epic → Rainbow

▼ Item Changes

  • Junkyard
    • Book → Fridge Magnet
  • Carnival
    • Fishing Rod → Ticket Stub
    • Biscuits → Throwing Dart

▼ Catalogue

  • Introduction Page updated.
  • Added new UI buttons for locations and shop in the navigation page.
  • Added stickers when location collection has been completed.
